01

Learn the rules behind the answers

Understand why an answer is right, rather than only trying to remember it.

02

Practise under a time limit

Use timed practice sessions to get comfortable managing the multiple-choice section.

03

Train your hazard awareness

Look ahead for situations that might make a driver or rider change speed or direction.

AFTER YOUR TEST

Your result and what follows.

At the test centre

You receive your result after the test. If you pass, you receive a pass certificate number for the next stage of your driving journey.

Passing both parts matters

If you miss the required score in either part, you need to take the full theory test again rather than only repeating one part.

Plan ahead

For car and motorcycle tests in Great Britain, the pass certificate lasts for two years. Check current official rules before making plans.
